Ok, youŕe googled about a problem in Ubuntu instalation and landed here.
Welcome.
1st step: Did you see the /var/log/messages file? So, check if you have a similar log like these lines:
Mar 14 19:25:17 ubuntu ubiquity: ERROR: isw device for volume “Volume0″ broken on /dev/sda in RAID set “isw_cdcjiijice_Volume0″
Mar 14 19:25:17 ubuntu ubiquity: ERROR: isw: wrong # of devices in RAID set “isw_cdcjiijice_Volume0″ [1/2] on /dev/sda
Very simple to solve in my case: A long time ago, I confugured in my desktop a RAID to see how to it works. After my labs with RAID, simply format both Hards Disks and remove RAID information:
root@ubuntu:/var/log# dmraid -x
Well, striped all information about old RAID. Now, the installation of 9.10 works fine.
Thanks!
You helped me a lot!
